Digital Marketing Bootcamp 2015

Sarawak Tourism Board organized a Digital Marketing Bootcamp on the 15th September 2015 at Lot 10 Hotel, Kuching. The bootcamp was conducted by the *WIT (Web In Travel) with the main objective to arm industry players with information and knowledge of how to make their tourism business, and the destination, easily discovered in the digital world.

Earlier, in April 2015, a Sarawak Tourism Forum was organised by the Sarawak Tourism Federation and the Ministry of Tourism.
The forum gave indication of the Industry’s inadequacy in maximising digital promotion.
As such, there is a need to “start off” the interest especially among industry partners to create awareness of latest trend and development in digital marketing and to be exposed to digital marketing trends and to be able to keep up with needs and wants of a highly mobile and tech savvy market segment.

The Digital Marketing Bootcamp 2015 was held timely to expose, create interest and to keep travel partners abreast with digital technology trends and development.
The one-day training programme comprising of breakout sessions, key note address, workshop and forum emphasied on topics of branding and selling.

A group of about 80, representing hoteliers, tour operators, travel agents and tourism board officials, took part in the bootcamp.

* Web in Travel (WIT) was launched in 2005 to create a new marketplace around the Internet and how it had and would change travel in Asia Pacific. It wanted to focus thought, ideas and inspiration around the fastest growing and changing segment of travel. Over the years, it’s grown not only in numbers, but in quality of attendance and speakers. It attracts top global and regional speakers in online travel distribution and has become the event for the who’s who in online travel technology, distribution and marketing.
