Bintulu

Once a part of Brunei, the quaint town of Bintulu first began as a fishing settlement with a few Chinese shop houses within its vicinity, all of which are no longer standing today. Bintulu began leaving its mark in Sarawak history by becoming the first meeting place of the State Legislative Assembly in 1867, before being recognized for its industrial potential with the discovery of large reserves of natural gas offshore.

Visitors will find that the temperature in Bintulu typically varies from 23°C to 32°C. The warm season is from July to August with an average daily high temperature of 32°C. The cold season lasts from December to February with an average daily high temperature of below 30°C.
